**Woodland Heights’ 1st Grade Teacher Recognized as Distinguished Literacy Teacher**

Woodland Heights Elementary School's 1st grade teacher, Mrs. Deanna Liner, has been recognized as a Distinguished Literacy Teacher of the Year. She is one of four elementary school educators chosen for this honor, celebrated for her efforts in nurturing a love for reading among young learners.

The announcement coincides with February's "I Love to Read" Month, during which Mrs. Liner's passion for literacy takes center stage. Her innovative teaching methods and dedication to engaging students with books have set her apart, helping instill a lifelong appreciation for reading in her 1st graders.

The Spartanburg Schools shared that Mrs. Liner, along with her peers, inspires students to connect with reading beyond the classroom, playing a vital role in building strong, confident readers at an early age.

Mrs. Liner’s commitment highlights the importance of literacy-focused educators in shaping the next generation of learners. February continues to honor their contributions as part of the broader celebration of reading and learning.
