**Port St. Lucie Police Department Makes Arrest in Double Shooting Incident**

On Monday night at approximately 11:58 PM, the Port St. Lucie Police Department (PSLPD) responded to reports of a crash in the 2600 block of SE South Blackwell Drive. Upon arrival, officers discovered two juvenile victims next to a crashed blue Kia.

A 16-year-old male victim was found with a gunshot wound to the head, while a 17-year-old female victim had a gunshot wound to her leg. Emergency assistance was rendered to both victims at the scene.

During the response, officers noticed a suspicious tan Chevrolet that struck a mailbox while navigating through the crash scene. The vehicle subsequently crashed into a swale during an attempted traffic stop. The driver, a 15-year-old male from Fort Pierce, was detained promptly.

The investigation, led by the PSLPD Major Crimes Unit, found that the two juvenile victims had planned to meet with the 15-year-old driver to sell him a THC vape cartridge for $80. During the transaction, the suspect allegedly fired a shot from a handgun, striking the male victim in the head and the female victim in the leg. Following the shooting, both victims fled in their vehicle and later crashed.

The 15-year-old suspect has been charged with multiple offenses, including Attempted Homicide While Engaged in a Felony Offense, Robbery with a Firearm, Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon, and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm Under 18 Years of Age. He is currently held at the Department of Juvenile Justice.

The 17-year-old female victim is reported to have non-life-threatening injuries and is receiving treatment at a local hospital. The 16-year-old male victim is in critical condition and is also hospitalized.

The investigation remains active, but authorities indicate there is no ongoing threat to the community.
