Hazardous Waste Collection Day This Saturday, Oct. 19

Port St. Lucie residents can dispose of household hazardous waste this Saturday, October 19, during the Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day. The event will take place at the Public Works complex located at 450 SW Thornhill Drive from 8 a.m. to noon.

Items accepted include unwanted paint, batteries, cleaning chemicals, pesticides, pool chemicals, and other hazardous materials. This event is free of charge and is only for Port St. Lucie and St. Lucie County residents, with ID checks required.

For those unable to attend on Saturday, hazardous waste can be disposed of year-round at the St. Lucie County Sanitary Landfill at 6120 Glades Cutoff Road in Fort Pierce. For more details, residents can call 772-462-1768.
